Frequently asked questions?
Q. Why is there an end bay? Why not just use additional bays?
A. For certain products like steel sub-frame flooring and hip lining, specific components go into the each bay type.
For example;
Sub frame flooring has these specific components for each bay.
- Starter Bay: Starter bay main beam, starter bay mid beam.
- Additional Bay: Additional bay main beam, additional bay mid beam.
- End Bay: End bay main beam, end bay mid beam
You can see this in the image above.
Hip lining
- Starter Bay: Hip lining end
- Additional Bay: Lining roof
- End Bay: Hip lining end
You can see this in the image above.
To manage stock correctly for both these products you need to factor in the end bay. Which is why we have the notion of an end bay.
Q. What about for metal structural components and PVC?
A. In most case there is no need for an end bay to correctly count metal structural and PVC components. For these products the end bay should replicate the components and QTY's used in the additional bay. The starter bay should include enough components to create a complete tent. So for example a 9x3m starter bay should include the gable legs and gable pvc.
Component | Starter Bay | Additional Bay | End Bay |
Legs | 4 | 2 | 2 |
Roof beams | 4 | 2 | 2 |
Gable legs | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Gable PVC | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Walls | 8 | 2 | 2 |
Ground Rails | 8 | 2 | 2 |
Other components.... | ... | ... | ... |
In the table below you can see the starter bay includes the components to make a complete tent.
Q. In what order are bays added?
A. 1x starter bay is added first. Next is 1x end bay. The the additional bays are added incrementally.
You can see this in the table below.
Bay | 9x3m / 30x10ft | 9x6m / 30x20ft | 9x9m / 30x30ft | 9x12m / 30x40ft | 9x15m / 30x50ft |
Starter Bay | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
Additional Bay | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 3 |
End Bay | 0 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
