This article explains how to navigate the GoodEvent Maps tool, covering the dashboard, the main map controls, and how to share and manage maps with team members and vendors.
Steps
Phase 1: The Dashboard
- Open GoodEvent Maps — the dashboard is the first screen you see. Each map you have created appears as an individual card. For example, if you have five layouts for different festivals, parties, or weddings, you will see five cards.
- Find a specific map — scroll down to browse or click Filter and use the search fields in the top right corner to find a map by name or other details.
- Access settings — click the dropdown in the top right corner to update your company name, contact information, website, and logo.
Phase 2: Navigate Inside a Map
- Click into a map — from the dashboard to open it. The map opens with your layout ready to view and edit.
- Use the bottom navigation buttons:
- Home — returns you to the dashboard
- Areas — shows all individual assets, SVGs, and spaces added to the map. Click any area in the list to select and highlight it on the map. For example, clicking Main Stage will select that asset in the layout.
- Draw — opens the drawing tools and SVG library. Use this to:
- Draw shapes — for example, click the circle tool and drag to create a circle
- Add SVG icons — click any icon such as a tent or marker to add it directly to the map
- Comments — click Add Comment, select a position on the map, and type your note. For example, Ticketing Area. Comments appear on the map and are also visible on the public view in real time.
- Access the same tools from the left-hand card — all bottom navigation buttons are also accessible from the panel on the left side of the screen
Phase 3: Manage Access and Sharing
- Add team members — click the team member option in the top navigation bar. Search for a team member by name and grant them access. Team members with access can customise and edit the map layout.
- Share with a vendor — find the vendor from your uploaded vendor list and grant them access. Vendors can only view the public version of the map — they cannot edit or customise it. If you have not added any vendors yet, click Add New to create one.
- Link to a quote, invoice, or load list — if you use GoodEvent Business, you can link this map directly to a specific quote, invoice, or load list from the top navigation bar.
Phase 4: Analytics, Downloads, and Sharing
- View map analytics — see how many times the map has been viewed and by how many unique visitors. A separate counter shows views in the last seven days.
- Download as an image — click Image Generator, choose your preferred size, and click Download to save the map as an image file.
- Share the public link — click Share to generate a public view link. Send this to customers, vendors, or anyone who needs to see the map. The public view updates in real time — any comments or changes you make are immediately visible to anyone with the link.
